Verizon or AT&T plans a 5G cell antenna near your house that will expose your family to hazardous microwave radiation

Dear Elk Grove resident,
The City of Elk Grove and Verizon or AT&T are planning to put up a powerful new 5G cell antenna near your house. On the back of this page is a map showing your house and the nearby approved cell antenna site. See how close the new antenna will be to your house. The range of a Verizon 5G cell antenna is greater than 2,000 feet according to former Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam.
Cell towers and antennas send out electromagnetic radiation (EMR) that is hazardous to human health. This radiation causes serious short and long term health effects. It can make you sick inside your house, causing insomnia, headaches, fatigue and ringing in the ears (tinnitus). It also disrupts the nervous system and reproductive system and causes cancer. This is according to thousands of studies. The closer you are to a cell tower or antenna the stronger the radiation is.
Because the City has not issued the cell antenna permit yet you can still prevent it if you act now.
What can you do?
You and your neighbors can organize to prevent this harm that will affect all of you. Talk to your neighbors about it. The City Council responds when they hear from multiple residents. Unfortunately the City has done most of this behind closed doors and has not notified you.
Speak
up and contact the City Council to protect
your family, your neighbors and our students,
who are exposed to even higher levels of EMR at school than at home.
Get educated about this issue and don’t
listen to the telecom hype and advertising.
5G is not for better cell service. It is for collecting data about
YOU to be used to sell you things and for the “internet of
things.”

The Council can amend the Elk Grove Municipal Code to protect homes and schools. The City Manager can choose to not approve more sites near homes and schools. This summer the Elk Grove Unified School District and the City intervened with AT&T to protect students at 3 schools. AT&T cooperated on 1 of them. The City can do the same for you and your neighbors.

Even better – speak to the Council live during a City Council meeting, held at 6:00 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. Email Mr. Lindgren with your phone number and tell him you want to comment on items not on the agenda. A City staff person will call you when it is your turn to speak. You will get 3 minutes.
