News
for Mayor, City Council and Elk Grove Unified Board of Education
Dear Reader,
As you know Election day is today Tuesday, November 3, 2020. You can find the Keep Cell Antennas Away endorsements of candidates for Mayor, City Council and the local Board of Education on this election webpage.
Did you already vote? Good, thank you! If you didn't this can be your last minute guide.
The battle over cell antennas in Elk Grove is not over yet. Behind the scenes AT&T and Verizon are still planning where they want to place new cell antennas. Which school should they target next? Which houses not protected by the City's new "front yard rule" will be the next unwilling victim?
There is one seat on the Council to be filled by the November 3 election, which is District 3.
As usual I am open to your comments and constructive criticism.
Thank you for taking action. Together we are stronger!

Cockpit Electromagnetic Fields May Be Harming Pilots, The U.S. Military Fears
Next time your City Council or City Attorney (or anyone) tells you that EMF has no effect on the human brain tell them about this. It's the U.S. government that said so.

Write to the candidates or candidates elect.
Use these brief draft letters.
The newly elected or re-elected political officials need to know what you want and don't want regarding cell antenna policy (and all the other issues too). The candidates who lost need to hear it too, for next time.
You will find the candidates' email addresses (or facebook pages, for a couple of them) and a brief, succinct email you can send to each of them on this fabulous post.
Personalizing your message, like saying how long you have lived in Elk Grove or what schools your children attend, will make it stand out. Also, if you will copy me on your email (cc or bcc) I would appreciate it.

How to use this newsletter
Dear Reader,I am looking for some volunteers. Will you join me? A couple of hard core, dedicated people could double the impact this campaign is having. There is more that we can do. You might even enjoy it!
The hyperlinks in this newsletter may work better if you view it in your browser.
Please share this news with your friends and neighbors, especially parents of EGUSD students. Please share this message and follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Next Door too.
Also, please send me your cell phone number. It will be easier for us to stay in touch. I will only use it for purposes of this campaign and you can unsubscribe from that at any time.
Together we are stronger. Thank you.

Pair up for teamwork. Be an advocacy buddy and find an advocacy buddy.
We are living in an Age of Apathy. This affects grassroots campaigns like ours by causing people to not respond. Perhaps they do not have time or do not realize the urgency of the issue, or they have heard the Council sing their favorite song, "There Is Nothing We Can Do For You" and got discouraged.
It can be very encouraging to have a buddy, a partner, to support you in your advocacy work. And for you to support them. Although the pandemic has limited people's interest in door to door canvassing and people's interest in opening their door to a stranger there is lots we can do in this campaign from the comfort of our own homes. The phone and internet give us ways to reach people. We can even do a 1 on 1 conference call!
If you want to find or be an advocacy buddy (and you can call it anything you want) please contact me. If 2 or more people do that I'll put you in touch. I have found that I can't work with everybody but there are a few, very few people that I just love working with.

Remote Learning and Radio Frequency Radiation
A podcast from the unstoppable Zen Honeycutt. This was excellent information in my last newsletter and it still is.
Zen is the Founder and Executive Director of Moms Across America. In this episode, Ep. 71 – Remote Learning and Radio Frequency Radiation, she explains step by step how to hard wire your house for about $40 and a couple of hours of work, just once. This will reduce your radiation exposure and improve your sleep, memory and well being from then on.
On April 6, I told you about Mom’s Across America, led by Founder & Executive Director Zen Honeycutt. Moms Across America is a National Coalition of Unstoppable Moms. From the beginning they have worked to educate people about healthy food choices, going organic and avoiding glyphosate. That work continues but now they are also working on cell antennas.

City Council meetings and public comments
The next City Council meeting will be on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. The following meeting will be on Wednesday, October 28. The Council meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month with some exceptions.
You can say your public comments live during the meeting. They will be part of the meeting video, which is mostly audio these days. To do this email the City Clerk and ask him to call you when it is time for public comments on agenda item 5, which is items NOT on the agenda. Nicole or somebody else from the City will call you when you are next in line. Then you get your 3 minutes of fame. Time to speak Truth to Power! Use that time wisely. It does fly by.
You can always email the Council and staff care of the City Clerk, Jason Lindgren, who will distribute your message to them. His email address is jlindgren@lkegrovecity.org
Elk Grove City Council meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month. They are scheduled to begin at 6:00 and actually begin between 6:00 and 6:45. They are held in the Council Chambers located at 8400 Laguna Palms Way across the street from City Hall.
Members of the audience can speak on any item on the agenda or on items not on the agenda.
During the quarantine the Council Chambers are closed to the public during Council meetings. The agenda describes the ways available for making public comments. You can send in your comments in print or an mp3 audio file or you can email the City Clerk to call you during the meeting so that you can speak. The best way it to make an audio file of your public comments, up to 3 minutes long, and send it to the City Clerk, whose email address follows.
Ordinarily, when there is no virus, you can fill out a blue speaker card on the table at the back of the room and give it to the Assistant City Clerk, who sits at the front left of the room facing the audience.
City Council meeting agendas are available on the City's website. You can also subscribe to be notified of new agendas, hearings, etc.
