The City of Santa Rosa made a deal with Verizon in 2017 regarding cell antennas in residential neighborhoods. Verizon installed these ugly, powerful, hazardous cell antennas on utility poles, as shown in these photographs and this article from the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, a local newspaper.
This is the situation in Santa Rosa, California as of 2018. The newspaper article is dated January 12, 2018.
Not all 5G cell antennas are this size and shape. Verizon currently has 10 applications pending for cell antennas in the City of Sonoma that will be 48″ high and 14.6″ in diameter. They are huge.
